Account Representative— Commercial Lines Department

General:

The Account Representative will provide prompt, accurate, courteous service to customers, producers and company personnel. This person will grow and develop talents and insurance knowledge to the highest level possible. Provide, with a positive attitude, a high level of support in obtaining, maintaining, expanding and servicing commercial accounts.

Agency Responsibilities:

  • Service Commercial Lines accounts as assigned.
  • At the direction of Producer, prepare company submissions for new business quotes and prepare proposals of insurance for new Commercial Lines clients, including visits to clients with producer when requested.
  • Initiate, screen and prepare endorsement requests for Commercial Lines clients.
  • Prepare and process cancellations when required.
  • Set up and prepare new account files per agency procedures.
  • Invoice all Surplus Lines policies and execute premium finance agreements.
  • Maintain suspense items in a timely manner.
  • Keep current on rates, forms and coverage changes through circulars, bulletins, trade publications, seminars and schools offered.
  • Participate in seminars and classes for skill and knowledge development.
  • Maintain all client activity in the agency management system.
  • Service commercial lines accounts in a manner to eliminate gaps in coverage, thus reducing our E&O exposures.
  • Prioritize work load and/or request for assistance as required.
  • Assist prospects/insureds until a producer or Account Manager is available.
  • Assist claims department in providing coverage information.
  • Keep producers fully informed of all important activities on their accounts.
  • Assist other departments and producers in cross selling and account rounding.
  • Immediately report all malfunctions of system software to the systems manager.
  • Assume other job responsibilities as assigned by Department Manager.

Qualifications, Education, and Licensing

  • Minimum two years experience in Commercial or Personal Insurance or related industry is required.
  • Previous experience or exposure in Commercial Lines of Business is preferred.
  • Must have all licenses as required by the State Department of Insurance to discuss and/or sell insurance in states where the agency functions or very close to obtaining license upon acceptance of job offer.
  • Knowledge and experience with agency management software is a plus.
  • College degree preferred but willing to consider other related experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Good listening skills and attention to detail are important.

Insurance Producer/Sales

Primary Functions:

Sales Position with established Insurance Agency requiring a self-motivated/energetic individual with advanced organizational and communication skills with a proven sales record regardless of field.  Capable of pursuing and closing sales of new commercial lines accounts and retaining a book of commercial lines business.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Bring in new business revenues by calling on prospective clients to determine their needs, secure interest in, propose and sell risk management services.
  • Compile lists of prospective clients to provide leads for additional business.
  • Contact and qualify prospective clients, recommending amount and type of coverage based on analysis of prospect’s circumstances.
  • Call on policyholders to deliver and explain policy and to suggest additions or changes in insurance program.
  • Be proactive to anticipate future needs and call on established clients to renew and upgrade accounts.
  • Develop long-term relationships with clients and underwriters.
  • Promote agency and insurance industry in the community.
  • Keep informed of industry developments through review of trade press and by attending insurance carrier training meetings on new products, etc.

*Once hired, training is available and ongoing including working along with a mentor to further develop your skills.

Compensation:

Highly competitive compensation package with unlimited future earnings potential.  Position includes benefits, base salary, excellent commission schedules, and bonus opportunities.


Arthur Hall Insurance is always seeking qualified applicants to join our team. Account Manager — Personal Lines Department (West Chester Office Only)

General:
Licensed full time agent with three years experience managing personal lines book of business.

Agency Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and develop personal lines business to agency standards
  • Represent agency in a positive, professional manner
  • Work in a team atmosphere
  • Maintain a positive attitude
  • Maintain a good working relationship with companies we represent
  • Maintain a commitment to new business sales through cross-sales and referrals to commercial and life producers

Department Responsibilities:

  • Maintain files and appropriate documentation
  • Process and bill policies, amendments and endorsements
  • Answer client questions promptly and efficiently
  • Pre-renewal surveys of coverage
  • Continuously improve product and coverage knowledge
  • Process and follow up on claims
  • Personnel Responsibilities:
    • Work with customer service representative to ensure most efficient work flow

Reporting to:

  • Personal Lines Manager or Vice President

Opportunities for Additional Income:

  • Sales of personal or commercial lines business
  • If licensed, sales of life, disability and long term care insurance (less income if not licensed)
  • The possibilities are limitless, but it is expected that time spent on producing additional income will be in addition to the regular work schedule
